WordPress Plugins?
I made a gaming site with WordPress, but I feel that it still just looks like a simple WordPress blog. I want it to look like most popular sites, like Engadget. I’d like to know if there are plugins I can use to change the basic WordPress look, so it won’t look like your basic blog.

What are the most effective WordPress plugins to attract the most relevant traffic and maximize website sales?
What are the most effective WordPress plugins to attract the most relevant traffic, the most relevant traffic and maximize website sales?
I am thinking maybe:
1. RSS feed plugins,
2. Cost Per Action (CPA) plugins or code snippets,
3. Affiliate plugins and/or links
Can you provide links to the tools that you think are the best, and let me know why you think they are the best?

Hi there,
I have never used CPA plugin and affiliate plugins.
But RSS feed plugins, i use. And these plugins:
1. ALL in SEO pack.
2. Social bookmarking
3. XML Generator
4. Top Commentators
Well i more care about long term traffics/returning visitors than quantity.
Greetings

How do I back up wordpress plugins?
I would like to save some plugins from one of my wordpress blogs and upload them to another wordpress blog I own. The only way I can see so far is to back up my entire WP database and use phpmyadmin, but that backs up the entire site, all I want to do is reuse the plugins. Some I paid for and can use again on any site.

Mocha67 answers:
Login trough ftp and copy the plugin files locally. Wp-content/plugins

How can I tell wordpress plugins are secure?
What steps can I do to see if wordpress plugins doesn’t have malicious code or call outs to some websites? I’m thinking maybe if the plugin has some binary code?. I know there’s the Theme Authenticity Checker and I’m lokking for somethingn similar for plugins. Thanx!

Mocha67 answers:
For the most part, plugins available through wordpress.org are secure, and best of all, they are tried and tested by many users. Most WordPress sites are infected by post scripting and RPC, and SQL vulnerabilities. So with that in mind, a good defense and being prepared for a hack is the best approach. There are a couple of useful plugins available to help minimize the chances of being hacked, and that allow you to recover from one if it does take place. For more info check out:

As an affiliate marketer, what is one of your favorite WordPress plugins?
Looking for information on what WordPress plugins affiliate marketers use in new installations. All responses welcome – make sure to include your own website and I’ll link to it from the article I’m writing.

The type of plug in really depends on what is is specifically used for. The one plug in that i can not seem to do with out is the DeansFCKEditor for wordpress.
This one plug in updates your current wysiwyg editor to a more advanced editor. One of which you can add source code directly into the posting. This is a great solution as it means i can add pop ups, peel away ads, video and more directly in to that posting.
It also means it will only happen on that posting and no other, this is why this is my have to have plug in. Originally designed as a upgrade to the wysiwyg editor but has the function of multiply plugins.
